METALLICA: Ontario Concert Filmed By Famed Director WAYNE ISHAM

December 13, 2008

According to MetOnTour.com, which is described as "your FREE virtual backstage pass to every METALLICA show," METALLICA's longtime friend and collaborator, famed video director Wayne Isham, filmed the band's performance last night (Friday, December 12) at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. It is not presently clear if the footage will be used towards a new promotional music video or it will end up on a future full-length DVD release from the group.

According to The Press-Enterprise, more than 10,500 people attended the concert, which sold out hours after the tickets went on sale.

Sue Oxarart, director of marketing for the venue, said the ticket sales were higher than even the sold out Lakers preseason game that opened the venue in October. That was due to METALLICA's stage setup.

The stage was in the middle of the arena, with general admission area on the floor around it. Hanging from the roof above the corners of the floor were four giant silver coffins holding lights.
